Jaya Bachchan (née Bhaduri; born 9 April 1948) is considered as one of the best film actresses of all time in India. She has also served as a member of parliament in the Rajya Sabha from the Samajwadi Party. Known for her work in Hindi films and Bengali films is noted for reinforcing a natural style of acting in both mainstream and "middle-of-the-road" cinema.[2] Jaya did create an excellent genre of her own style of acting by mixing both Comercial and art. [3] A recipient of several accolades, she has won a record nine Filmfare Awards and the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour awarded by the Government of India.[4]
