Danny Got His Gun
Season Five of Night Court ends with the first episode of a three-part story, to be resolved at the beginning of Season Six. As a captain in the US Army reserves, Dan (John Larroquette) is assigned to a war zone, whereupon he goes through an elaborate charade of illness to duck out of his responsibilities. He changes his mind when he discovers that he’s to be deployed to the Carribean under the command of a very sexy female major (Judy Landers). Unfortunately, Dan oversteps his bounds and ends up being exiled to the Arctic Circle–and worse still, his plane crashes en route!, Dan feigns illness when he’s ordered on an Army Reserve mission, but recovers when he meets a career officer.
