When Isha Koppikar was just eighteen years old, she related the horrifying story of an occurrence that happened on a casting couch during her early career.
Isha Koppikar talked about some bad things that happened to her when she was first starting out in the film business. The actor opened up about the incidents—in which she was asked to meet alone by an A-list actor—in a recent interview.
“One actor asked me to meet him alone, without my driver or anyone else, because there were rumours about him being involved with other actresses,” Isha Koppikar stated in the new Hindi interview. “There are already controversies regarding me, and the staff disseminates rumours,” he declared. “However, I told him that I couldn’t come by myself and turned him down. He was a Hindi film industry A-list actor. I would have been 22 or 23 years old at the time.”
“I was 18 when a secretary and an actor approached me for a casting couch,” she continued. “They told me you had to be ‘friends’ with actors in order to gain jobs. I’m a really amiable person, but what exactly does it mean? Ekta Kapoor once advised me to exhibit some attitude because I am so gregarious. Isha Koppikar also mentioned how many would inappropriately touch her and advise her to make sleazy friends with the heroes.”
Ek Tha Dil Ek Thi Dhadkan, released in 1998, was Isha’s Bollywood debut. She later acted in films such as Fiza, Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat, Company, Kaante, Pinjar, and Dil Ka Rishta. Alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, she also starred in Don.
In 2009, Isha Koppikar wed Timmy Narang, a hotelier. It is said that after meeting in a gym, they fell in love. Before they began dating, the two had been friends for three years. Although Rianna was welcomed by Isha and Timmy in July 2014, the couple split up earlier this year.
