Bollywood is full of multi-talented actors. Most are trained actors, but some also include dancing and singing on their résumé. Today, on World Music Day 2024, let us honour some of the actors that transformed into singers and wowed admirers with their lovely voices.

Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt is one of the industry’s most impassioned performers, and she can sing as well as act. She made her singing debut in 2014 with a song in Highway, following training at A. R. Rahman’s singing academy. Alia went on to contribute her vocals to other chartbusters, including Ikk Kudi from Udta Punjab (2016) and Samjhawan in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014).
Priyanka Chopra
There is nothing that OG Desi girl cannot do because she is Wonder Woman. The actor’s debut song was released in the United States in 2012. The track In My City, which featured American rapper will.i.am, became a massive hit in India. However, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been singing since her pageant days. Following her second single, Exotic, the actor made her Bollywood playback singing debut with Mary Kom (2014). Priyanka is truly unstoppable!
Ayushmann Khurrana
Another multi-talented star is Ayushmann Khurrana, who can sing and dance in addition to acting. Vicky Donor (2012) was his debut feature, and it was here that he first demonstrated his various talents. When Ayushmann’s voice was heard in the song Pani Da Rang, fans went crazy. Since then, the actor has sung several songs, including Saddi Gali from Nautanki Saala! (2013), Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho for Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020), and his 2023 single Rataan Kaaliyan.
Parineeti Chopra
Parineeti Chopra made her singing debut in 2017 with the song Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin for Meri Pyaari Bindu. However, her’singer period’ began last year, when she recorded O Piya for her wedding with Raghav Chadha and thereafter performed her first live concert. Parineeti went on to sing 15 tunes for Imtiaz Ali’s biographical drama Amar Singh Chamkila, which also starred Diljit Dosanjh. She played Chamkila’s singer wife, Amarjot Kaur, in this film.
Farhan Akhatar
Farhan Akhtar, a director turned actor and musician, is another all-around celebrity on our list. After establishing himself as a filmmaker with films such as Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and Lakshya (2004), Farhan made his acting and singing debut with Rock On!! (2008). Since then, he has performed as a playback vocalist in numerous Bollywood films, including Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) and Dil Dhadakne Do (2015).
Shraddha Kapoor
Shraddha Kapoor was taught to sing as a child by her maternal grandparents, who are classical singers. She made her Bollywood acting debut in 2010, but it was four years later that she captivated hearts with her vocal talent on the award-winning tune Galliyan for Ek Villain (2014). Shraddha went on to sing for ABCD 2 (2015), Rock On 2 (2016), and many other famous film songs.
Tiger Shroff
Tiger Shroff blew us away in 2020 with his debut single Unbelievable, which featured his exquisite singing voice. The action hero went on to bless his admirers with songs like Casanova and Poori Gal Baat. In 2022, Tiger sang Miss Hairan for his Bollywood flick Heropanti 2.
