The Peddler

Discover the cinema of Daniel Burmeister, a seventy-something, DIY filmmaker who travels to sleepy villages across Argentina, recruiting locals to act in no-budget features crafted from one of a handful of stock genre scripts, and giving communities the opportunity to share a once-in-a-lifetime experience together. Relying on the locals for food and lodging, Burmeister asks permission of the mayor to use the town as a setting and the citizens as his talent, and produces a feature within 30 days. When the movie is finished, the locals gather to watch the film they have worked together to produce. The proceeds from the ticket sales go to Burmeister, who then loads his filmmaking equipment into his car, and sets his sights on the next town to begin the cycle all over again.
