The team explore the remains of a platform in Vauxhall from which Bronze Age people threw gifts to the river gods. Was this London’s first bridge?, At low tide each day, near Vauxhall Bridge in central London, the Thames reveals the tops of a mysterious group of prehistoric timbers buried on the shore. Over the course of three days, Tony Robinson and the Team have just two hours a day of digging and fighting against the tide to excavate at least one timber. In this race against time, the Team pieces together a picture of life beside the river 4000 years ago – and succeeds in revealing the fascinating secrets of these ancient timbers.
