Nearly 500 people drowned and no women or children survived. The loss of life was immense, but so too was the amount of gold on board – £80 million worth brought from Melbourne, Australia. In the first programme, we see how Gwen and Vince get together on the Isle of Anglesey to work out how they go about finding the treasure.
