Ranbir Kapoor: Brahmastra actor’s busy schedule until 2026 might not allow him to do the project
For a long time, producer Bhushan Kumar has been preparing to make the film Mughal, which will be a biopic of his late father Gulshan Kumar. However, due to some reasons, this film is not being made. Now the news is that Bhushan Kumar is making Mughal afresh. Although the time frame for this film has not been decided yet, it is believed that it is now on top priority.
Subhash Kapoor was earlier supposed to direct it, but he is no longer a part of it. The script is also undergoing significant changes. A new team of writers has been roped in for this.
Talks begin with Ranbir Kapoor
The film is still at the writing stage, but insiders claim that Bhushan Kumar has begun talks with Ranbir Kapoor for the biopic. Ranbir has shown interest, although the talks haven’t progressed far enough to confirm anything concrete.
The Brahmastra actor’s busy schedule until 2026 might not allow him to do the project, but Bhushan is keen to have him on board. However, if Ranbir declines the offer, Bhushan is planning to approach Ayushmann Khurrana and Varun Dhawan for the role.
Earlier Akshay’s name was coming forward
The Gulshan Kumar biopic was first announced in March 2017 with Akshay Kumar in the lead role under the direction of Subhash Kapoor. However, Akshay later walked out of it due to creative differences. Then a year later, Aamir Khan came on board as both actor and co-producer, but he stepped back after Subhash was accused of sexual harassment during the MeToo movement.
