The filmmaker must have put pressure…’ Harshvardhan Rane called Vikrant Massey’s Decision a PR stunt

Vikrant Massey suddenly announced his retirement on Instagram

Actor Vikrant Massey has mesmerized the audience with his brilliant acting in films like 12th Fail and The Sabarmati Report. Vikrant Massey was honored with ‘The Indian Film Personality of the Year Award’ at the 55th International Film Festival. Fans were waiting to see similar performances from the actor in the future when on December 2, he suddenly announced his retirement on Instagram.

Actor Harshvardhan called it a PR stunt

Massey‘s decision to take a break from acting shocked everyone. Fans are unable to imagine why he took such a decision, that too at a time when he was giving hit films one after the other. However, now his co-star Harshvardhan Rane has called Vikrant‘s move a PR stunt.

In an interview to Bollywood Bubble, Harshvardhan said that Vikrant is a clear-thinking actor. I admire his work ethics and I also noticed his acting process in the film Haseena Dilruba. I hope he will come back again and if not act then he will try his hand at film direction like Aamir Khan.

These are big artists of our country and I am guessing that this might be a PR strategy and some filmmaker might have pressurized them to do this.

I have to go back home – Harshvardhan

Earlier, he had announced his retirement through an Instagram post. He wrote, ‘My last few years have been wonderful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support. But, as I move forward, I realize that it is time to re-organize as a husband, father, son and an actor and go back home. I will meet you for the last time in the year 2025, until the right time comes. There are two last films and countless memories, thank you to everyone, will always be grateful.

Many other actors supported his decision

Apart from Harshvardhan Rane, actress Rashi Khanna has also commented on the post showing her support. She wrote, ‘No..’ While his wife Patralekha wrote, ‘No, you are one of our best actors..’ Bhumi Pednekar reacted to his post by making a heart emoji. From all these responses, it seems that this could also be a PR stunt.
