Randeep Hooda undergoes a massive Physical Transformation in “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar”
Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar, was an Indian freedom fighter, who popularized the ideology of Hindutva, when he was confined at Ratnagiri in 1922. A prominent figure in the Hindu Mahasabha, Savarkar wanted the Sikhs of Punjab to establish Sikhistan, when the Indian muslims were lead to cross the demarcation after the establishment of Pakistan.
Directed by Randeep Hooda, who also played the lead role in the film, and produced by Anand Pandit and Sandeep Singh, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar is a historical biopic film about the life’s journey of Vee Savarkar and his indomitable spirit and contribution in the Indian freedom struggle. After a long time, we will be seeing Ankita Lokhande, playing the role of Savarkar’s wife, Yamuna Bai, in the movie.
To the Britishers, Savarkar was a ‘dangerous’ man, but for the Indians, he was ‘Veer’. Like Savarkar, there are many sunsung heroes and true leaders who gave their entire life and sacrificed for the nation; whose stories have been kept in discreet in the pages of history, untold. The biopic is releasing in Hindi and Marathi language on 22nd March.
The trailer is very promising, and like time travel, its taking us back to the era that our nation would never like to forget. Needless to say, like Sarbajit(2016), this time also, Randeep Hooda went through a massive transformation to justify the character on screen. After 2016, the comeback of Randeep Hooda is probably going to set the screen ablaze.
