Akshay Kumar, who had previously held Canadian citizenship, after obtaining Indian citizenship last year, cast his ballot early on Monday morning during the Lok Sabha elections 2024. A few hours later, he and actor Dimple Kapadia, his mother-in-law, were sighted at the Mumbai airport. They were on their way to London.
Although Dimple, the mother of Akshay‘s wife Twinkle Khanna, was dressed in a black and white airport ensemble, Akshay was wearing the same green shirt attire that he wore when he cast his ballot on Monday morning.
In Mumbai, Akshay Kumar was one of the first voters. Last year, Akshay obtained Indian citizenship. In an interview with reporters, he encouraged people to cast their ballots. “I want my India to be developed and strong,” Akshay stated in Hindi. With that in mind, I cast my ballot. India ought to cast its votes according to its morality. I predict that Mumbai will have a high voter turnout.” Upon being questioned about his first voting experience following his Indian citizenship, the actor said, “This is fantastic! I feel fantastic!
