Anand Tiwari Video Interview:
Anand Tiwari, who directed the first OTT Hindi original film ‘Love Per Square Feet’ and the first Hindi musical web series ‘Bandish Bandits’, believes that becoming an actor was just a coincidence, in fact his hobby is storytelling. Amar Ujala’s consulting editor Pankaj Shukla had this special conversation with Anand of the Tiwari family, who moved to Mumbai from Rae Bareli four generations ago.
People have known you as an actor for a long time, but ‘Bandish Bandits’ changed this identity of yours, when did you fall in love with music?
Music has been very important for me because I have been a very shy child at home. My two elder brothers are absolutely ‘alpha’. Both are masters of chatter. When I was going through the crisis of making my place, then I realized that music is giving a direction to my life. My feelings started coming out through music and this is how my relationship with music was formed.
Acting was just an accident for me. I always wanted to tell stories. Earlier, I was telling others’ stories through my acting. Now, ever since I and Amrit (Amrit Pal Singh Bindra) have opened this company, we have focused on telling our own stories. I think it is someone’s blessing that we got the opportunity to make this series.
And, people are very impressed by the acting of the actors in this series. Seeing Atul Kulkarni, Sheeba Chaddha, Ritwik Bhowmik singing, it seems that all of them are expert singers..
Yes, these reactions are really encouraging. Everyone has worked as hard as they could for these characters. They have increased their breathing power. Often our breathing process is not correct, singers are made to practice it since childhood. We often hear from big singers that they started learning singing late because they started at the age of five. So singing is a form that is learned along with speaking.
