Annu Kapoor: Received Death Threats Over His Upcoming Movie

Annu Kapoor talks about the death threats he’s been getting in relation to ‘Hum Do Hamare Baaraah’, his upcoming movie.

Annu Kapoor is not afraid of death threats, he is receiving  for his upcoming film. The veteran actor claims he only went to the police to finish his job of reporting it after receiving threats on social media regarding his safety.

“As a Muslim, our writer for Hum Do Hamare Baaraah is currently going through extra hardship due to the circumstances. I don’t believe in gods. Because to threats of death, police have also had to go to the homes of all the female actors. On social media, some zealots are inciting hatred and staging protests. We had to notify the court and police as a precaution,” the veteran actor tells.

The subject of the film, Hum Do Hamare Baaraah, is a man who upholds his religious convictions, and things spiral out of control. There are other claims that it is a critique of population control.

Annu Kapoor is questioned during a recent interview if these films are purposefully developed on spectacular subjects to attract viewers because of their religious overtones and since the release date coincides with the elections.

“With due respect to the film industry and my esteemed colleagues, I don’t watch films, TV shows, or over-the-top content,” Annu Kapoor states before responding to the inquiry. “I am a stupid asshole. Working in the film industry is what I do for a living. However, I will not steal, commit any crimes, or work against my nation for that reason. I haven’t even watched the movie’s trailer, much less witnessed a showing. Neither Dream Girl 1 nor 2 have I seen. The movie makes no political statements.”

Annu Kapoor continues, asserting that the threats have no effect on him “I am not terrified of all this bull**it. No one could stop me when the time came for me to leave this planet, and no one could send me away if it hadn’t. However, when my social media account manager informed my wife about the threats, she became a little agitated.”
