Anurag Kashyap talks about Abhay Deol: “He Will Look Like Shit If He Tells The Truth.”

Anurag Kashyap, the filmmaker, discusses his conflict with Abhay Deol. His startling admissions will astound you.

Anurag Kashyap, the Bollywood filmmaker, is making headlines for a variety of reasons. He is the creative force behind the cult hit Dev D, which has a huge fan base. Abhay Deol played the lead in the movie.

Anurag Kashyap disagreed with Abhay Deol‘s criticism that it glorified harmful masculine behaviour. As a result, Abhay Deol and Anurag Kashyap became seriously estranged.

Anurag stated in a recent interview that there is more to their argument than Abhay Deol‘s version of events, but he won’t say anything because the actor won’t look good. Anurag admitted to being rather adept at upholding relationships in an interview with Janice Sequeira. He went on to say that he had not even met Abhay Deol after Dev D was filmed because he had not shown up for the promotions.

Anurag stated in the interview that he is okay with Abhay calling him toxic as that is his version of events. He claimed that it is impossible to express the truth since doing so would prevent him from showing his face. Anurag continued by stating that Abhay Deol would not have the guts to discuss it because it would make him appear foolish and that there is far too much truth in it.

In 2009, Anurag Kashyap directed the film Dev D, which was based in Delhi and Punjab and told the story of a sad and obsessive lover. Abhay Deol was highly praised for his outstanding portrayal of a damaged and chauvinistic man in the part. The general public adored the film, which was a hit.

In 2023, Abhay Deol said to a media source that he became absorbed in the Dev character and spent a year acting out the role. He went so far as to admit that he was a daily drinker who suffered from memory loss. Abhay even declared that his entire existence has been a haze. He went so far as to say that he wanted the female characters to have greater agency and that his version of Dev D differed greatly from Anurag’s. Anurag, however, defended his adaptation of the movie and asserted that his tales are grounded in reality.
