Anurag Kashyap discussed the recent box office failure of several high-budget films. He claimed that actors and their entourages are spending a lot of money.
Anurag Kashyap discussed why high-end films don’t do well at the box office and how the expectations of the stars and their high-maintenance entourages are to blame. Anurag Kashyap stated in an interview with Humans of Cinema that a large portion of the money used in the production of a movie is actually used to satisfy the needs of the actors rather than actually making the picture.
“I never saw so many vanity vans on my set like I saw on Sacred Games,” Anurag Kashyap remarked. “That was the origin of the culture. Then, that cannot be undone. Eventually, the technical crew—who had been completely disregarded—began to receive paid. In a way, it’s fair. However, a tonne of extra items began to arrive.”
In reference to a few high-profile films that failed recently, Anurag Kashyap stated, “They aren’t spending on simply the film. People must realise that when we make a film, we are artists at work and are producing something. It’s not a picnic, nor is it a holiday. The film’s production doesn’t cost a lot of money. It enters both the entourage and the paraphernalia. Even if you’re filming in the midst of a forest, one automobile will be transported three hours away to a metropolis in order to provide you the five-star burger of your dreams.”
Anurag Kashyap has revealed the cast of his upcoming movie, which features a wide range of performers, including Malayalam actor Joju George, who will be making his Hindi film debut. Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Riddhi Sen, Ankush Gedam, and Nagesh Bhonsle are set to feature in the project. Anurag revealed a screenshot from a magazine in May, confirming the cast of the film.
