Actress Bhumi Pednekar, who has been vocal about environmental protection from the beginning, has also been trying to make the society vocal through fashion. Bhumi has a clear belief that in order to adopt any new thing, it is very important to have knowledge about it. She says, “It is very important to understand about fashion that it must be comfortable, simple and social. It is also not right that fashion is only about expensive clothes or designer clothes. Fashion is a very big standard of social change, I have believed this from the beginning.”
Talking about how fashion can help us manage the environment around us, Bhumi says, “While working on environmental conservation, after the Corona pandemic, I started making people aware about this aspect of fashion. When we were in Delhi, I used to get clothes from Sarojini Nagar. Then I would get them altered according to my thinking by the tailor master of the locality and get a new dress ready.”
According to Bhumi Pednekar, “Our clothes are the first shape of our personality and I consider actress Rekha ji to be the best example of this. Her attraction is created by her clothes and so many people have been influenced by it. People have also started looking like her in public events.”
