Bigg Boss is a reality show that is based on the Dutch show Big Brother. A number of contestants take part in this reality show. They compete with each other to win the title and prize money. These contestants are famous celebrities and well-known personalities on social media. They have to live in a purpose built house. The show will run for 90 days.
Bigg Boss’s house is fully equipped with basic necessities. It consists of a kitchen, a living area, bedrooms, bathrooms and washrooms. There is also a storeroom, garden, pool, activity area, and gym in the house. The most important part of Bigg Boss House is the confession room. But Bigg Boss’s house has no TV connection, no telephones, no Internet connection, clocks, pens, or paper.
The house is ruled by Big Boss. Bigg Boss is a voice that gives commands to the contestant. Bigg Boss sets tasks and various activities for contestants. Big Boss personally communicates with the contestant in the confession room to learn about their experiences and voting purposes. The conversations in the confession room are kept secret from the other contestants. Bigg Boss keeps close vigilance on the daily activities of all the contestants. If someone tries to break any rule of Big Boss House, then they are punished by the penalty. There is no space for physical violence in the house. If any contestant harms other housemates or causes damage within the house, then they can get evicted.
The show is hosted by the Sultan of Bollywood, Salman Khan. He appears every week and on special occasions. He announces the weekly eviction. Every week, famous celebrities also visit the house to encourage the contestants and do various promotions.
The 17th season of the show premiered on Colour TV on October 15, 2023. The unseen footage, daily special clips, and daily episodes of the show are available on Voot.
The contestants for the 17th season are Ankita Lokhande, Vicky Jain, Soniya Bansal, Sana Raees Khan, Khanzaadi, Anurag Dobhal, Jigna Vohra, Mannara Chopra, Munawar Faruqui, Rinku Dhawan, Abhishek Kumar, Neil Bhatt, Aishwarya Sharma, and Isha Malviya.
