The story of the movie centres around a young man named Jaime Reyes. He recently graduated from Gotham Law University. He returns to his hometown of Palmera City. He has aspiring plans for his future. But he finds that his family is facing financial difficulties. To help his family in this difficult situation, Jaime gets a job at Victoria’s mansion. He soon gets fired when he gets into the confrontation between Victoria and her niece Jenny.
Jenny gives a mysterious box to Jamie before he leaves the mansion. When Jamie reaches his home, his family members convince him to open the box. When Jaime opens it, the supernatural power of Scarab gets activated and fuses with him, changing him into an armoured exoskeleton.
This change brought extraordinary and unpredictable powers to Jamie and changed his life forever as he became a super hero, the Blue Beetle.
