The movie is about a homosexual amateur wrestler named Saúl Armendáriz.
In the year 1980, Saúl Armendáriz lived in El Paso, Taxes. He regularly crosses the border and visits Ciudad Jauarez in Mexico to participate in freestyle wrestling matches.
He meets a new trainer, Sabrina, who suggests he compete as an exotico wrestler. This leads him to develop his new identity and increase his success as Cassandro.
Actors Gael García Bernal, Roberta Colindrez, Perla De La Rosa, Joaquín Cosío, Raúl Castillo, El Hijo del Santo, and Bad Bunny are playing various characters in the movie.
