whose strategy to redeem her husband’s losing streak takes an unexpected twist, when he must face off against his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend.
Challengers premiered in Sydney, Australia on March 26, 2024 is scheduled to be released in the United States by Amazon MGM Studios on April 26, 2024. It was delayed from its initial September 2023 release date and pulled out from its slot as the opening film of the 80th Venice International Film Festival due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.

In film Tashi, a tennis player turned coach, has transformed her husband from a mediocre player into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a challenger event close to the lowest level of tournament on the pro tour.
Tensions soon run high when he finds himself standing across the net from the once-promising, now burnt-out Patrick, his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend.
