Multiplexes backtrack on the Rs. 99 Cinema Lovers Day ticket offer due to Lok Sabha Election concerns, leaving moviegoers in suspense!
Mumbai, 18 April – Unexpectedly, multiplexes have opted to withdraw their previous statement that they will be offering movie tickets for just Rs. 99 on April 19 in honor of Cinema Lovers Day. Movie buffs are dismayed by this choice, especially considering the initial buzz the story created.
The promotional offer had attracted considerable interest, as multiplex chains launched imaginative campaigns and the producers of the forthcoming movie ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar‘ directed under- Shirsha Guha Thakurta.- released commercials to publicize the cheap tickets. Nevertheless, the offer has been canceled due to time difficulties.
According to sources, the decision to revoke the offer was made since it coincided with the first round of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. There are concerns that the cheap cinema tickets might discourage people from engaging in democracy by placing a higher value on movies than on voting.
The Cinema Lovers Day celebrations have been canceled, but the movie theaters and the directors have not yet disclosed any other events or deals for the day’s attendees.
