Sharing a bill with recently reunited The Early November and pop-punk heroes Motion City Soundtrack (premiere date coming soon!) might be daunting, but it was no sweat for these English lads fresh from Soundwave Festival.Deaf Havana powered through a collection of new (‘Boston Square’), old (‘Smiles All Round’) and straight-to-the-point numbers (‘I’m a Bore, Mostly’), with vocalist James ‘I’m-my-own-worst-critic Veck Gilodi’s dry humour filling the voids between songs. “Sorry for being such a miserable bastard this evening,” he told us before finale ‘Hunstanton Pier’.
