What’s Behind the Ban on Ed Sheeran’s Street Show in Bangalore?
Popular British singer Ed Sheeran‘s street show in Bangalore has been banned. Bangalore Police stopped British musician Ed Sheeran‘s live street performance in the city on Sunday morning. Actually, the police say that the singer-songwriter had not taken permission for this. Police banned the show on the complaint against the singer.
Why was the show stopped?
Sheeran performed in Bangalore on Saturday night. Today, on Sunday evening, he will once again come on stage in the city. During the show, fans looked crazy for Sheeran and there was tremendous enthusiasm in them. But, due to lack of permission for the show, the police stopped his show.
Police pulled the cables
Sheeran said on the microphone, ‘We were going to play more than one song, but we are being asked to perform only one song. He said this before playing his famous song ‘Shape of You’ on the guitar. Before the singer could complete his song, a policeman came and pulled the cables attached to Sheeran’s microphone and guitar. Police said – a complaint of public nuisance was made.
A senior police officer of Cubbon Park police station said that Sheeran was performing without any permission, so he had to be stopped. He told news agency PTI, ‘The police reached there because someone had complained of public nuisance’. He said that if the musician and his team had a permit, they could have shown it to the police. Church Street is a busy area of Bangalore, which is known for its nightlife and cultural programs.
