Farhan Akhtar: Akshay Khanna had made this sacrifice for Aamir Khan
Farhan Akhtar is a big name in the Bollywood industry. He is a multi-talented person. Apart from being a successful and famous director, Farhan is also a producer, writer, lyricist, singer and actor. Recently, he participated in a conversation with famous director Faye D’Souza. During this, he talked about his film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. With this film, he entered the film world as a director.

Farhan Akhtar‘s first film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ itself gave him a lot of recognition. With this film he started his career as a director. In this film Bollywood superstars Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan were seen in lead roles. In this conversation with Faye D’Souza, he made a big revelation.
He told that the role of Aamir’s happy-go-lucky Akash Malhotra was first given to Akshaye Khanna. However, Aamir wanted to play this role, after which for the betterment of the film Akshaye Khanna left that role for Aamir.
The director said during this conversation, “When I met Akshay Khanna for Dil Chahta Hai, I offered him the role of Akash, which Aamir played. When I approached Akshay at that time, I wanted to take two other young actors. So I approached Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan, who were just one film old at that time, but they had a few more films, so I had to take actors of a slightly older generation for Dil Chahta Hai.”
