After the Chinese Wall the Roman frontier in Germany is the second longest archaeological monument! The so-called Limes was of special importance for the safety of Rome. Stretching for more than 550 km (350 miles) the monument is an astonishing achievement in antiquity. Together with Hadrian’s Wall and the Antonine Wall the Limes is part of a trans-national World Heritage Site. Remastered in 2018
