In August 2005, as well as the usual mix of Yorkshire county championship and one day fixtures, the Scarborough Cricket Festival included a charity match between a Lashings XI and an Old England XI. The game, in aid of The Dickie Bird Foundation, featured many of the world’s best players, both past and present. Dickie once again donned the famous white coat and hat to take his place in the middle.
