Gadar is the love story of a Sikh young man, Tara Singh, and a Muslim young woman, Sakeena.
Their love blossoms during the partition of India. They got married and became the parents of a boy. They named their son Jeete.
They are leading a happy life when Sakeena gets to know about her long-lost family, who are in Pakistan. Her family is politically active in the country. She goes to Pakistan to meet her family but faces many struggles. She is captivated by the family when the get to know that she is married to an Indian and has a son. This leads Tara Singh to go to Pakistan and rescue her wife.
The story of Gadar 2 is a continuation of the first part of the movie.
Years later, Tara Singh goes missing during a small fight between the two groups of people. Everyone assumes that he was captured by Pakistan. Now his son, Jeete, sets out on a rescue mission for his father and starts a complicated and struggling journey. He has to overcome every obstacle to find his missing father.
Actors Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Gaurav Chopra, Manish Wadhwa, and Simrat Kaur are playing key roles, with various other actors in supporting roles.
The screenplay for the movie was done by Shaktimaan Talwar.
The movie is directed by Anil Sharma.
The movie is produced by Anil Sharma and Kamal Mukut in association with Zed Studios, Anil Sharma Productions, and MM Movies.
The movie is releasing on the OTT platform on October 6, 2023, and will be streaming on Zee5.
