During this time, she also told that she has changed her religion secretly. Sunita said,
“I was born in Bandra, I was baptised. I was in Christian school and all my friends were Christians. As a child, I heard that Jesus’ blood had wine in it. I told myself ‘wine means alcohol’, right from the beginning, I thought there was nothing wrong in drinking. I changed my religion to drink wine. However, I still follow Christianity, I go to church every Saturday”.
