Ben Matthias is an astrophysicist. He is developing a camera to detect dark matter. He meets and marries Alyssa. She is a ghost tour guide. He becomes influenced by her belief in the supernatural. Alyssa dies in a car accident. Ben gives up his career and continues to run her ghost tour.
A widowed doctor, Gabbie, and her nine-year-old son, Travis, move from New York to Gracey Manor in New Orleans. They turn it into a bed and breakfast accommodation. They suspect unnatural events are happening in and around the mansion. Soon they realised that the mansion was haunted by ghosts.
They hire astrophysicist Ben, priest Father Kent, Medium Harriet, and haunted house expert professor Bruce Davis to help them rescue the mansion from the grip of the evil ghosts.
Actors LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jared Leto are playing various roles in the movie.
