Heeramandi’s Jason Shah says ‘Sanjay Leela Bhansali wasn’t directing much’ on set

Jason Shah confesses he was close to being labelled a ‘problem maker’

Jason Shah, who plays a key role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming series Heeramandi, recently opened up about his experience on set. According to Shah, Bhansali, known for his meticulous direction, was surprisingly hands-off during the shoot.

Shah felt that this lack of directorial involvement and communication led to some missed opportunities to add depth to his villainous character. He admitted that this situation nearly led to him being labeled a “problem maker” on set, as he struggled with the constraints and the lack of freedom to explore his role fully.

Shah also mentioned feeling out of place on the set due to what he perceived as a lack of simple niceties and effective communication. Despite these challenges, Shah’s commitment to his craft remains strong, as he hopes for the best outcome for Heeramandi despite these difficulties.
