Madras High Court Sent Legal Notice to the Makers of ‘The Greatest of All Time’

Tamil superstar Vijay is in the news these days for his film The Greatest of All Time. This film is very special for his fans because, after this, he is going to retire from acting and become fully active in politics. Meanwhile, before the release of the film, the producer of ‘The GOAT‘ has come into the limelight because of one of his films.

Actually, ‘The GOAT‘ is produced under the banner of Archana Kapathy’s AGS Entertainment. Vijay‘s superhit film Bigil was also produced by the same production house. On September 4 (Wednesday), the Madras High Court has sent a legal notice to the filmmakers in the case of alleged theft of the script of ‘Bigil‘ before the release of Vijay‘s new film.

Writer Amzath Meeran had filed a petition in the Madras High Court a few years ago, stating that the script of ‘Bigil‘ was allegedly plagiarized, but the case was closed when the court found that it was just a defamation case. The verdict in the case came in favor of the filmmakers and it was declared free from plagiarism.

Though the court had ordered Amzath Meeran to pay Rs 1 lakh each to producer Archana Kalapathy and director Atlee, even after two years Meeran failed to pay the fine. He then filed an appeal seeking condonation of the alleged delay, following which the court directed Atlee and the filmmaker to respond to it.
