I Killed Bapu is a movie about one of the most hated assassins in the history of India. The movie is about Nathuram Godse who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi. The movie depicts Nathuram Godse’s reason behind the extreme steps.
The movie shows that Nathuran Godse is a patriot who fought against Britain’s rulers for the freedom of India. He murdered Mahatma Gandhi and is facing trial in court. He don’t have any lawyers as no one wants to defend on his behalf. So he defended himself during the court session. He explains the reason behind the step he took. He says that he had envisioned an undivided India. He was totally against the division of India into two separate nations. He was also against the idea of Pakistan.
He also tells the court that many Hindus were left to die in Pakistan, whereas Muslims in India were allowed to escape to the newly emerging neighbouring country. He dislikes the idea of dividing one nation into two depending on religion.
Lastly, he admitted he killed Gandhi because of all the mistakes he committed by dividing India.
Actors Sameer Deshpande, Rajesh Khatri, Hemant Rasakonda, Akshay Verma, Umashankar Goenka, Mukesh H. Kapani, Nagesh Mishra, Zaffar Kazmi, Nafees, Ravi Dev Rai, Shweta Prajapati, Fiza Khan, Avinash Bandhe, Karamjit Kumar, Manish Kashyap, and Sachin Sahu are playing key roles, with various other actors playing supporting roles in the movie.
I Killed Bapu is inspired by the novel Maine Gandhi Vadh Kyu Kiya, written by Nathuram Vinayak Godse. And based on the novel, the screenplay for the movie was done by Aadesh K. Arjun.
The movie is directed by Hyder Kazmi and produced by Vikas Production.
The music for the movie is composed by Aman Shlok.
