Imran Khan’s mother worried about reports saying he looked like a drug addict in photos.
Actor Imran Khan recently shed light on the toll that media speculation can take on individuals, particularly when it comes to their health and well-being. Speaking candidly about his time away from the limelight, Imran revealed how news reports, often unfounded, deeply disturbed his family members, especially his mother.
After his film Katti Batti received a lukewarm response in 2015, Imran took a step back from the industry. However, during his hiatus, he found himself at the center of various rumors and speculations in the media.
While Imran himself remained oblivious to much of the gossip, his family members, particularly those of the older generation, came across these reports in newspapers and were greatly troubled by them.
“Even if you are not on social media, it still reaches you because of newspapers. My mom, aunts, and that generation of people who still get newspapers at home, they would see (what’s written about me) and get disturbed by it,” Imran explained. “They would say, ‘See what they are saying about you? They have posted this photo where you look like this, they are saying you are taking drugs. Kya ho raha hai?’ It is disturbing,” he added.
