In a candid conversation on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Imtiaz reminisced about Madhubala‘s iconic house, Kismat Bungalow, which was reputed to be haunted. Despite warnings and superstitions, Imtiaz ventured into the supposedly haunted abode, intrigued by the allure of the unknown.

Madhubala used to have a house, it was called Kismat Bungalow. It has been reconstructed now. But back in the day, they wouldn’t allow people to film there at night, and people generally wouldn’t want to film there at night because they believed that her ghost haunts the place. Who knows if that was true, but that’s what people believed,” Imtiaz shared during the podcast.

Immersing himself in the eerie atmosphere of the bungalow’s “darkest corners,” Imtiaz awaited the spectral presence of the legendary actress. Though he did not encounter any supernatural occurrences, the experience left an indelible mark on him.

Intriguingly, Imtiaz expressed his interest in directing a horror film, citing Madhumati as his favorite Hindi horror movie. He emphasized his desire to infuse depth into the genre, aiming to evoke more than just fear in audiences.
