Five people including Matthew Perry’s personal assistant and two doctors have been charged
Five people, including Matthew Perry‘s personal assistant and two doctors, have been arrested and charged in connection with his death. Prosecutors said the doctors supplied Perry with a large amount of ketamine, exploiting his addiction for their own gain. The actor passed away at his Los Angeles home in October 2023.
Matthew Perry, 54, had openly discussed his struggles with addiction. At the time of his death, he was receiving ketamine therapy for anxiety and depression, but an autopsy revealed much higher levels of the drug in his system than expected. In May, Los Angeles police and the DEA launched a joint investigation into how Perry obtained the excessive amount of ketamine.
The investigation uncovered a large criminal network supplying excessive ketamine to Matthew Perry, involving his assistant, two doctors, and a major drug supplier known as the “Ketamine Queen.” Five people have been charged for their roles, accused of prioritizing profit over Perry‘s safety. Federal court documents reveal they were involved in a scheme to obtain and administer the drug to Perry.
