Insidious tells the story of a couple named Josh Lambert and Renai. They have a son named Dalton. They have a lovely family and are living happily. Dalton enters a camaraderie state after being affected by the influence of a ghost. The demons continuously haunt the family. These ghosts belong to a forbidden realm known as the Further. They haunt a family until they take their lives. The couple hires the best paranormal investigators to help them.
Insidious: The Red Door is the continuation of the story. The movie is set after nine years of the horrifying incident. Josh Lambert has overcome the hurtful memories of his past. Josh and Renai are divorced now. He had recently lost her mother.
Josh is living with his son, Dalton. Their relationship is strained for some reasons. They always end up arguing on every topic. Josh makes efforts to mend their differences, but Dalton ends their conversation on the note of an argument.
Dalton is now in college. He believes that the new start of life at the new college will help him overcome his past memories. But his life turns into a nightmare when the demon of his past recurs to haunt him again. Meanwhile, Josh also begins to get haunted by the evil spirit of a man.
Actors Ty Simpkins, Patrick Wilson, Sinclair Daniel, Hiam Abbass, and Rose Byrne are playing key roles, with various other actors in supporting roles.
The movie is based on a novel named Characters, written by Leigh Whannell. The screenplay for the movie was done by Scott Teems.
