The Buckingham Murders: Hansal Mehta gave a befitting reply to the troll
Hansal Mehta is all set for the release of his next thriller ‘The Buckingham Murders‘. It stars Kareena Kapoor in the lead role. After the trailer did a great job, the internet started drawing comparisons between the film and Kate Winslet’s acclaimed miniseries ‘Mare of Easttown’.
Naturally, netizens took to social media and called the film’s story a copy. Now director Hansal Mehta has broken his silence and has given a strong response to the allegations.
Recently, when an ex-user took a dig at Hansal Mehta‘s upcoming film ‘The Buckingham Murders’ and called it a copy of ‘Mayor of Easttown’, the internet started discussing comparisons. The user wrote, ‘Mayor of Easttown. For God’s sake, bring something original.’ However, Hansal Mehta has responded to this allegation with great simplicity. Hansal said, ‘Decide after watching. Don’t jump to conclusions in a hurry.’
It seems like Hansal Mehta is confident that his story has suspense and the audience will love it. At the trailer launch, Kareena Kapoor was also asked if her character was influenced by Kate Winslet’s performance in ‘Mare of Easttown’. Addressing the speculations, Kareena clarified, “The script came to me a year before the release of Mayor of Easttown.”
