Root preleva Shaw dal suo appartamento e la convince ad affiancarla in una missione guidata, a suo dire, dalla Macchina. Mentre Reese si occupa della scomparsa di Shaw, Finch cerca di capire cosa minacci Sloan, un detective immobiliare che indaga sulla morte del fratello adottivo Jason. Le due storie finiscono per incrociarsi, ma gli obiettivi sono diversi: Root deve salvare Jason dall’agguato teso da un gruppo rivoluzionario guidato da Collier, Reese deve invece salvare suo fratello adottivo Sloan che sta per essere ucciso sempre da Collier. Sventato il piano del gruppo, Collier riesce a fuggire, mentre Jason e Sloan vengono salvati, ma Root finisce nella mani di Finch.
