Jason Shah, known for his portrayal of the villainous Cartwright in the streaming series “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” recently shared insights into his journey into Bollywood, reminiscing about his early encounters with the industry.
In a candid interview, Shah revealed that his fascination with Bollywood began after appearing as an extra in the Salman Khan-starrer “Partner.” He recounted being drawn to the world of acting after witnessing Khan‘s seemingly casual demeanor on set. Shah recalled how Khan would arrive late in the afternoon, prompting the producer to implore him to begin work with folded hands.
Reflecting on his path to success, Shah shared, “I started modelling when I was 17-18. I did a small scene in the song ‘Dupatta Tera Nau Rang Da’ in Partner. That’s where I was bitten by the acting bug. I wanted to live this amazing life.”
His journey eventually led him to secure a supporting role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s grand production, “Heeramandi,” which premiered on Netflix on May 1. Despite the challenges and uncertainties of the industry, Shah‘s determination and passion for acting propelled him forward, ultimately culminating in his breakthrough role.
