Junaid Khan is rumoured to be collaborating with Khushi Kapoor on the film.
Junaid Khan, who recently received critical acclaim for his performance in the Netflix film Maharaj, has teased fans with news about his next film project. The actor, who is the son of Bollywood star Aamir Khan, announced that he had begun filming an untitled film in Delhi.
In an exclusive interview, Junaid Khan revealed details about his upcoming project, implying that it is funded by a well-known production studio. Previously, reports circulated on the internet that he was shooting with Khushi Kapoor in Delhi for a few weeks.
This announcement follows the release of Maharaj, a historical drama that has gotten overwhelmingly good reaction since its debut on Friday.
In reflecting on Maharaj‘s success, Junaid Khan expressed gratitude for the film’s response. “I am grateful for the generally positive reception Maharaj has gotten. So, sure, it’s fairly satisfying; I suppose everything works out in the end,” he remarked. Maharaj dives into the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case, one of India’s most important judicial battles, and focuses on the life of social reformer Karsandas Mulji.
Sidharth P Malhotra directs the film, which is produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF) Entertainment. Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey, and Sharvari also star, with Sharvari making a special appearance.
Junaid Khan expressed his interest in joining the project, noting the strong narrative and the Yash Raj Films banner as important draws. “When Sid and Adi Sir called me about this subject, I was quite interested. I absolutely enjoyed Sid Sir’s segment. “The Yash Raj banner is well-known, so taking on this project was an obvious choice,” he explained.
The Gujarat High Court issued a temporary stay on Maharaj’s discharge. However, the hold was lifted on Friday, prompting Yash Raj Films to express gratitude in an official statement.
“We are grateful to the judiciary for allowing the release of Maharaj, a film that celebrates one of the most important social reformers of our country, Karsandas Mulji,” according to the statement. “Yash Raj Films has a 50-year history of celebrating India’s tales, people, culture, and heritage. We have never made a film that harmed the reputation of our country or its citizens.”
