Kakuda Trailer Takes a Hilarious Jibe at ‘Stree’ and ‘Manjulika’
The trailer for the upcoming horror-comedy “Kakuda,” starring Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem, has been released, promising a unique blend of humor and horror. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for his successful films like “Zombivili,” this film is set to premiere on ZEE5 on July 12, 2024.

“Kakuda” is set in the fictional village of Ratodi in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district, where a peculiar curse dictates the lives of its residents. Each house in the village has two doors, one normal-sized and one smaller.

Every Tuesday at 7:15 PM, the smaller door must be opened, or the wrath of Kakuda, the spirit haunting the village, will be unleashed, specifically targeting the men of the household.

The trailer has garnered attention for its humorous take on popular horror tropes, taking jabs at films like “Stree” and characters like Manjulika from “Bhool Bhulaiyaa.”
The chemistry between the leads and the mix of scares and laughs promise a refreshing experience for the audience. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP, “Kakuda” marks the first collaboration between Sonakshi Sinha and Riteish Deshmukh.
