Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and Deepika, fails to maintain the magic it created on the first day and suffers a significant setback
Kalki 2898 AD, which stars Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani among others in lead roles and directed by Nag Ashwin. The film also features cameos from SS Rajamouli, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Vijay Deverakonda. On Thursday, the sci-fi film debuted at the worldwide box office with Rs 191.5 crore.
According to industry tracker, the film’s second-day box office took a significant fall. The picture made Rs 95.3 crore nett in India on its first day, but its second-day earnings decreased by more than 43 percent.
Kalki 2898 AD grossed Rs 54 crore. If reports are to be believed, the Telugu version experienced a significant drop, earning Rs 65.8 crore on the first day and Rs 25.65 crore on the second day.
On Friday, the film had a Telugu audience share of 65.02 percent. The film grossed Rs 149.3 crore nett in India. In Kannada, it made Rs 35 lakh on day two, while in Malayalam, it earned Rs 2 crore on day 2.
Kalki 2898 AD‘s booking collections in India was Rs 55 crore, excluding block seats. Kalki 2898 AD is set during the period between the Mahabharata and the Kali Yuga. The film concentrates on Kalki, Lord Vishnu’s tenth and final avatar. It opened in theatres globally on June 27.
The film was released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Well, the film is projected to do well over the weekend. In the film, Prabhas plays the character Bhairava.
