Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ Faces Another Setback as Censor Board Delays Certification

Kangana Ranaut Fought Till The Last Moment For The Release Date of Emergency, Now Tweeted in Disappointment

Kangana Ranaut‘s upcoming film Emergency, based on the 1975 Emergency, has been in the news for a long time. On one hand Kangana was ready to bring her film on screen, on the other hand the Censor Board did not give the green signal to the film. Because of this the movie got postponed.

Kangana Ranaut starrer political drama Emergency was scheduled to release in theaters on November 24 last year. However, due to some reason the film got postponed for 7 months and the new release date was fixed as June 14, 2024. But due to Kangana’s election journey, the movie could not be released even on June 14. As soon as the actress became MP from Mandi, a few days later she kept the new release date of the film as 6th September, 2024. But now this too has been postponed.

On August 14, the trailer of Emergency was released and an uproar started regarding the film. Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) did not give certificate to Kangana Ranaut‘s film and the movie got postponed.

On September 6, Kangana Ranaut shared an emotional post on her X handle. She wrote, “With a heavy heart, I announce that my directorial venture Emergency has been postponed. We are still waiting for the certification from the Censor Board, the new release date will be announced soon, your Thank you for your understanding and patience.”
