Kangana Ranaut has once again become the target of Netizens, as evidenced by a previously shared video of her defending Will Smith’s slap of Chris Rock becoming viral.
Kangana Ranaut, a former Bollywood actress who is now a politician, was recently slapped by a CISF official at the airport in Chandigarh. Later on, it became clear that the actress’s condemnation of the farmer protests a few years prior had infuriated the CISF official.
It appears that the CISF official’s mother participated in the farmers’ demonstrations as well. The majority of social media users are cheering the slap event and praising the CISF official, while some people criticising the incident and the CISF official’s actions.
Kangana Ranaut said yesterday that if people are cheering the slap incident and believing that it was justified due to the CISF official’s emotional response, then all crimes, including rape and murder, are acceptable.
Netizens have, however, turned their attention back to Kangana Ranaut after discovering an old video of her defending Will Smith‘s slap of Chris Rock went viral. She is being criticised for her apparent hypocrisy.
Will Smith stormed on stage at the 2022 Oscars and gave emcee Chris Rock a slap after the latter made fun of his wife Jada’s illness. At the time, Kangana Ranaut defended Will Smith‘s actions by saying that she would have reacted the same way if someone had made fun of her sister’s or mother’s condition.
Her previous post was discovered online, exposing her as a major hypocrite. According to the post, Kangana acknowledged that Will’s smack was appropriate and that, in Will’s shoes, she would have acted similarly.
Supporters felt that in that scenario, Kangana‘s slap by the CISF official was justified because the actress had revealed that women participating in farmer protests get paid 100 rupees each to sit in the demonstrations. The CISF officer publicly expressed her displeasure at Kangana’s remarks, citing her mother’s involvement in the farmer protests as a contributing factor.
Stars like Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, Shabana Azmi, and Shabana Azmi have defended Kangana Ranaut and denounced the CISF official’s actions.
