‘Laapataa Ladies’ to be Screened in Supreme Court: Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao Attend Exclusive Event on Gender Equality

Apart from acting, many good films like Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par and Peepli Live have been produced by ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan. In the same year, Aamir Khan produced film Laapataa Ladies was released which was directed by his ex-wife Kiran Rao.

Laapataa Ladies releases in theaters on March 1, 2024. The film received a lot of love from the audience and critics, but it did not earn much at the box office. However, when the film came on the OTT platform, it became one of the most watched films. The film is going to be screened in the Supreme Court after five months.

The screening of “Laapataa ladies” based on gender discrimination will be held in the Supreme Court on Friday, which will be attended by judges, their families and registry officials. According to a communication circulated by the administrative section of the top court, actor-producer Aamir Khan and director Kiran Rao will also be present at the screening.

The communication said, “As part of the activities organized during the 75th year of the establishment of the Supreme Court of India, the film Laapataa Ladies based on the topic of gender equality will be screened in the Auditorium located at C-Block of the Administrative Building Complex on Friday, August 9, 2024.” In this screening, Chief Justice of India, D.Y. Chandrachud will arrive with his partner for the screening of the film from 4.15 pm to 6.20 pm.
