The Ministry of Defense rejected over 15 scripts presented by various production houses which have Pulwama attack as the plot of the movie.

When the script of Operation Valentine was presented to the Ministry of Defense for the approval, the makers has their fingers crossed. The script impressed the Higher Authorities and they liked the realistic approach of the filmmakers. The Ministry of Defense granted permission to shoot at a highly secured Gwalior Air Base. The shooting of movie took place at Air Base for 40 days and all the officials cooperated with the movie team during this duration.
