Dulquer Salmaan is wagering big on Lucky Baskhar versus Vijay’s The GOAT

Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary’s Lucky Baskhar has a new release date for Ganesh Chaturthi.

Lucky Baskhar relates the story of a bank cashier throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s. The film’s shooting has been completed, and the directors have recreated Bombay from the 1980s in Hyderabad. A bank mimicking those of the time period was also built.

Sithara Entertainments, a renowned production house, announced a new release date for their upcoming film Lucky Baskhar, which stars Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary as the lead pair and is directed by Venky Atluri. The film is currently scheduled to release on September 7, 2024.

Making the announcement on X, Dulquer Salmaan tweeted a new still of himself from the flick, stating, “This Vinayaka Chaturthi, Prepare to enjoy #LuckyBaskhar’s incredible trip on the big screen! Worldwide release on September 7th in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi languages. #LuckyBaskharOnSept7th.

This audacious move comes only two days after the release of Kollywood star Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time, directed by Venkat Prabhu and set for September 5, 2024. The latter will be distributed in Telugu by Mythri Movie Distributors LLP. This means Dulquer Salmaan will square off against Vijay in an epic battle, making it a tough competition unless the content truly captivates the viewers.

The box office showdown will be entertaining to witness. The Lucky Baskhar crew appears to be confident in their film’s potential, which is most likely why they chose this competitive release date.
