India’s famous actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar is no more in this world. He died on 4 April 2025 at 4:03 am in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. One of Manoj Kumar’s most popular film was Upkar which came in 1967. He also played the dual role of farmers and soldiers. Very few people would know that the suggestion to make this film was given by the then Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri himself. During the 1965 war, the slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kisan was raised, then Shastri told Manoj Kumar to make a film on this subject which proved to be a blockbuster hit.
