Mohanlal said- ‘Don’t ruin the industry’

Then all the members including AMMA President Mohanlal resigned after heavy criticism. Now finally Mohanlal has spoken about the Hema Committee and sexual harassment allegations.
After the release of the Hema Committee Report, which made sensational revelations related to the Malayalam film industry, the discussion of the MeToo campaign has once again started across the country. The Hema Committee told how things like sexual exploitation and casting couch are happening with actresses in the Malayalam film industry. Some actresses also accused veteran actors and producer-directors of sexual harassment.
Some members of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) resigned after allegations of sexual harassment. Since then, there was a ruckus about the association. Later the association’s president Mohanlal also resigned from AMMA along with 17 members. For the first time, the veteran actor Mohanlal spoken about the Hema Committee Report and the allegations against AMMA.
Recently, Mohanlal attended the opening ceremony of Kerala Cricket League in Thiruvananthapuram. At the event, he said that he welcomes the Hema Committee report but the entire responsibility is not on AMMA. He said, “The Hema Committee report is welcome. I have appeared before the committee twice. My request is that please don’t ruin the industry. We welcome the Hema Committee report. It was the right decision of the government to release that report.”
