Brass Commandments

William Farnum and Tom Santschi, veterans of the famous brawl in The Spoilers (1914) were reunited for this otherwise routine Fox Western directed by Tom Mix regular Lynn F. Reynolds. This time, Farnum returns to the homestead only to find the place taken over by a gang of cattle rustlers led by Santschi. The onscreen conflict between Farnum and Santschi, however, somehow lacked the legendary realism of their famous first encounter. Future Western star Ken Maynard remembered having worked as a riding double on this film.
